'We all loved the Summer School – such a feat in a short space of time! It was so well thought out and the children all performed brilliantly, clearly enjoying the experience and working as a team. Both of my children (5 and 11) want to return to Summer School again next year. Thank you Kaleidoscope!' Sally Jones (Parent)
Our friendly, fun-loving team of theatre professionals lead creative workshops in Drama, Dance, Singing, Musical Theatre and Production Art. Every child has the chance to learn new skills and work as part of a team - and we make sure there’s plenty of laughter along the way.
A typical Summer School day begins with an outdoor treasure hunt, followed by lively drama warm-up games to help everyone relax, get to know each other and make new friends. Children and young people then take part in a range of performing arts workshops led by our experienced team of theatre professionals. We enjoy lunch together under the trees before heading into more afternoon workshops, finishing the day with a fun group games session.
Older students are gently challenged to stretch their skills and experience a real taste of the world of theatre, while younger children enjoy longer breaks, more games and the freedom to work at their own pace.
All activities are designed to build confidence and help every child feel included and supported. Workshops are led by our specialist teachers and experienced teaching assistants, who love working creatively with children and young people. Pupils are fully supervised throughout the day, all staff hold Enhanced DBS certificates, and our teachers are first-aid trained.
Our Summer Schools are always popular and places fill quickly, so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment and to benefit from the Early Bird discount rate.
Once again we have been awarded HAF funding and this will allow us to hope to offer a number of free weekly places for children who receive benefit related free school meals or have additional needs. The HAF places are likely to be in high demand. We also offer a low-income discount for families receiving Universal Credit.
